Pharmacology of Sudokof 100 ml Syrup The preparation is a mixture of antitussive, decongestant and antihistamine. Dextromethorphan is a safe and effective non-narcotic antitussive, which has a central effect on the cough center in the spinal cord. Although it is structurally related to morphine, it has no analgesic or addictive properties and usually has little sedation. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages. It is used to treat congestion of the nasal cavity and sinuses of tubes that drain fluid from the inner ear. Triprolidine may alleviate symptoms when it is believed to be fully or partially dependent on triggered histamine release. It is an effective competitive antagonist of the pyrrolidine histamine H1 receptor, with mild central nervous system inhibitory properties, which can cause drowsiness.
